Wright State University was originally planned as the Dayton branch of Miami University, but has been an independent university since 1965. Wright State offers a Baccalaureate Program in Nursing and is home to the Boonshoft School of Medicine. Additionally Wright State recognizes its athletic programs as an integral part of the total educational process. Their teams the Wright State Raiders are comprised of student-athletes that have had some success in men’s basketball, baseball, and swimming.
